Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken Breasts: Season chicken breasts evenly with salt, pepper, and a pinch of paprika. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, until golden and cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Cook the Bacon: In the same or a separate pan, fry the bacon strips until crispy and browned. Transfer to paper towels to drain excess fat, then set aside.
  3. Make the Creamy Mushroom Sauce: Melt butter in a skillet and sauté sliced mushrooms until tender and slightly caramelized. Add minced garlic and cook briefly until fragrant. Stir in mayonnaise and Dijon mustard, seasoning with salt and pepper. Heat gently until warmed through and slightly thickened.
  4. Assemble and Bake: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place cooked chicken breasts in a baking dish. Spoon the creamy mushroom sauce evenly over each piece, then top with shredded cheddar cheese and crispy bacon strips. Bake uncovered for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
