Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 slices crispy bacon, chopped
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional Ingredients

  • Pickles, sliced (for garnish or layering)
  • Additional cheese such as mozzarella or pepper jack
  • Jalapeños or crushed red pepper flakes (for spice)
  • Extra veggies like diced bell peppers or fresh spinach
  • Gluten-free lasagna noodles (for gluten-free version)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef and Bacon Mixture: Cook ground beef over medium heat until browned and crumbly. Drain excess fat, then add diced onions and cook until softened. In a separate pan, cook bacon until crispy, chop into pieces, and combine with the beef mixture. Stir in mustard, ketchup, salt, and pepper to infuse classic cheeseburger flavors.
  2. Cook the Lasagna Noodles: Boil lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and lay them flat on a clean surface or parchment paper to prevent sticking while preparing other layers.
  3. Layer the Lasagna: Grease a baking dish and spread a thin layer of tomato sauce on the bottom. Add a layer of noodles, followed by a generous portion of the beef and bacon mixture, then a layer of shredded cheddar cheese. Repeat these layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a thick cheese layer on top.
  4. Bake Until Bubbling and Golden: Cover the dish with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake an additional 10 minutes to allow the cheese to become bubbly and golden. Let cool slightly before slicing for better layer integrity.

Notes

  • Use freshly shredded cheddar cheese for smoother, gooier layers.
  • Slightly undercook noodles to ensure perfect tenderness after baking.
  • Drain fat well from beef and bacon to avoid a greasy dish.
  • Allow the lasagna to rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing to maintain layers.
  • Add pickles at the end or as garnish to keep them crisp and prevent sogginess.
