Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 24 Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups (480 ml) cold milk
  • 2 cups (480 ml) whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)
  • 1/2 cup (60 g) powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Creamy Filling: Beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. In a separate bowl, whisk together instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until it thickens. Gently fold the pudding mixture into the cream cheese, then carefully fold in the whipped topping to keep the texture light and airy.
  2. Crush the Oreos: Use a food processor or place Oreo cookies in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin until mostly fine crumbs remain with some larger chunks for texture contrast.
  3. Assemble the First Layer: Spread a generous layer of crushed Oreos evenly across the bottom of a large glass dish or trifle bowl to form the crunchy base.
  4. Add the Cream Filling: Spread half of the creamy mixture evenly over the Oreo layer and smooth the surface with a spatula.
  5. Repeat Layers and Chill: Add another layer of crushed Oreos followed by the remaining cream filling. Finish with a final sprinkle of Oreo crumbs on top. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld and dessert to set.

Notes

  • Chill ingredients like milk and cream cheese beforehand for better texture and easier preparation.
  • Fold whipped topping gently into the cream cheese mixture to maintain a light and fluffy filling.
  • Use full-fat cream cheese and pudding mix for richer, creamier results.
  • Ensure even layering for best taste and visual appeal.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours; overnight chilling improves flavor and texture further.
  • This dessert is not baked; it is served chilled.
  • Optional garnishes include crushed Oreos, chocolate shavings, mini chocolate chips, fresh mint leaves, or berries.
