Ingredients

Scale

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Sugars

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Add-ins

  • 1 cup Peanut Butter M&Ms (plus extra for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the oven and baking sheets: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat until smooth and creamy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, then mix again until fully incorporated.
  3. Add dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined without overmixing.
  4. Fold in Peanut Butter M&Ms: Gently fold in 1 cup of Peanut Butter M&Ms, reserving some to press on top of the cookies before baking for added color and crunch.
  5. Shape and bake: Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to form dough balls and place them evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheets. Press a few reserved M&Ms on top of each dough ball. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are set and lightly golden.
  6. Cool and enjoy: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely and maintain their chewy texture.

Notes

  • Use room temperature ingredients for easier mixing and better texture.
  • Do not overbake to keep cookies soft and chewy; remove when edges just set.
  • Chilling dough for 30 minutes helps control spreading and deepens flavor.
  • Feel free to experiment with different types of M&Ms or chocolate chips for varied flavors.
  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and promote even baking.
