Filling Ingredients
- 1 cup ground turkey
- 1 cup fresh mushrooms, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup green onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Wrapping
- 30 thin dumpling wrappers
Optional for Serving
- Dipping sauce (soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, chili flakes)
- Sliced green onions
- Toasted sesame seeds
- Chopped cilantro
- Prepare the Filling: Finely chop fresh mushrooms and green onions. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, chopped mushrooms, green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well incorporated and fragrant.
- Assemble the Dumplings: Lay a dumpling wrapper flat in your palm. Spoon a small amount of filling into the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water using your finger, fold it over the filling to create a half-moon shape, and press the edges tightly to seal. Crimp edges decoratively to secure the filling inside.
- Cook the Dumplings: Choose your preferred method: Steam dumplings for 6-8 minutes until wrappers are translucent; or pan-fry on medium heat with a splash of oil until golden and crisp on the bottom, then add water, cover, and steam until cooked through; or boil in gently simmering water for 4-5 minutes until they float.
- Serve Hot and Enjoy: Transfer cooked dumplings to a warm plate. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, garnished with sliced green onions, toasted sesame seeds, or chopped cilantro if desired.
Notes
- Keep filling cold before assembling to help it firm up and make handling easier.
- Do not overfill the wrappers to ensure they seal properly without breaking.
- Use a small spoon or scoop for consistent portion sizes and tidy dumplings.
- Dampen wrappers slightly with water to prevent drying and cracking during assembly.
- Test-cook one dumpling first to adjust seasoning or cooking time if necessary.
