Instructions

  1. Cook the Sausage: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground Italian sausage and break it up as it cooks until browned and fully cooked. Stir in minced garlic and diced onion, sautéing until fragrant and translucent.
  2. Add Seasonings and Peppers: Mix in banana peppers, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes if desired. Cook together for 2-3 more minutes to combine flavors.
  3. Prepare the Slider Rolls: Slice slider rolls in half horizontally but keep them connected like a sandwich loaf. Spread marinara sauce evenly over the cut side of the bottom halves.
  4. Assemble and Add Cheese: Layer the cooked sausage mixture over the marinara sauce. Top each slider with slices of provolone cheese. Replace the top halves of the rolls.
  5. Bake Until Melty and Heated Through: Wrap the entire slider tray in foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted and sliders are warmed through.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Remove from oven, slice apart, and serve immediately while the cheese is hot and gooey.
